Health Services Holiday Party

The Health Services Department will be holding a holiday party on Friday, December 3rd from 12PM to 2PM in front of the HS Department Office and Health Services Library. Food and refreshments will be served.

MPH/MBA Mixer
Nov 17th
Get pumped for the first ever MBA-MPH mixer! The event will take place this Friday (Nov 19th) from 6-9pm. We have reserved half of South in Santa Monica and got some great drink specials including $3 domestic beers, $8 dollar domestic pitchers, and $5 well drinks. The plan is to hang out at South until 9pm and later head over to either Main st or Busbys to keep the party going for those who are interested.

Professional Networking Event (POSTPONED!)

This workshop has been postponed until further notice. Please let us know if you are still interested.
We have a professional workshop scheduled for this Saturday (11/13) at 12 – 4 pm at school (room TBD). Food will be provided.
Hopefully, this will be useful as we apply for jobs and internships and attend conferences. Based on the survey that you filled out, Neil Sehgal and Dr. Roby have developed a curriculum to help us with our:
1. Resume
2. Interviewing skills
3. Professional presence
4. Networking skills.
They’ve also invited some people to help out by giving pointers and suggestions based on their experiences. The guest speakers are experienced but younger (approx. 5 years post-grad) so hopefully their advice and words of wisdom will be more relevant to us students.
We need to find at least 10 people willing to go, so please sign up at the link below. It should be a great and fun event for us to attend.
HSSA Bruin Football Tailgate!

It’s time to bring out your blue and gold: Saturday 11/6 UCLA is playing Oregon State at 4pm and we want you there to tailgate and support our team!! Despite our football team’s less than stellar record, the Rose Bowl “parking lot” (it’s on a golf course) will be jam-packed with UCLA students and alums, which always makes for a phenomenal tailgate.
2010 Student, Faculty, and Alumni Mixer- Thanks to everyone who came!

This year’s mixer was a great success! Despite the surprise rain shower, everyone had a great time socializing with NVG’s delicious food and drinks, not to mention the over $600 worth of prizes some very lucky raffle winners received! On behalf of the 2010-2011 UCLA HSSA Board, welcome to the new UCLA HSSA website! The site has been rebuilt from the ground up, and will offer useful resources for your academic career, more interactivity features, and will keep you updated on what’s happening in the Association.
